Gregory Green: Wife and Baby Killer

On July 14, 1991 Gregory Green called 911 telling first responders that he killed his wife and that he was waiting outside. When police arrived, they found his wife, Tonya Green dead from multiple stab wounds to her face and chest. To their dismay, Tonya was six months pregnant with Gregory Green’s child and their unborn child also perished in the frenzied attack. Green served sixteen years in prison for the murder of his wife and was paroled with the support of his friends and family. A local pastor, Fred Harris lobbied for Green’s redemption and pending release. In interviews, he claimed that Green had a lack of self control and in the years that he served, he became a righteous man. Harris, along with the members of his church, all welcomed him back with open arms and total support when he was released in 2008.

Green later married Pastor Harris’ daughter, Faith Green-Harris and they had two children, Koi and Kaleigh. Nearly a decade after his release from prison and creating a beautiful family who loved and trusted him, Green snapped. On September 21, 2016 Faith Harris-Green was bound with duct tape and zip ties, shot in the foot, cut with a box cutter across her face, and forced to watch her husband heartlessly murder her two teenage children and his step children with a gun. At the time of their murders, Kara Allen was seventeen and Chadney Allen was nineteen. Upstairs, Green locked Koi, then five, and Kaleigh, then four inside of their room and ran a hose from the family car’s tailpipe into their bedroom; both girls died while they were sleeping from carbon monoxide poisoning. After the attack, he calmly stepped outside and called 911 telling them that he shot his family and they were inside.

Gregory Green was found mentally competent to stand trial and found guilty of the murders. His wife, Faith Harris-Green took the stand and gave the following victim statement as she faced him on stand:

“You are a con artist. You are a monster. You are a devil in disguise. You are now forever exposed; no punishment will ever be enough. Not even torture and death would be justice; your justice will come when you burn in hell for all eternity for murdering four innocent children, all because you’re insecure.” Green will not be eligible for parole until he is 97 years old.
