Jaane Jaan – Jaideep Ahlawat Steals The Show With Performance

Jaane Jaan is an adaption of famous Japanese Novel “The Devotion Of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino”. It features Kareena Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma in lead roles. Sujoy Ghosh directed the film, who is known for his masterpiece thrillers.

.

The story of the film revolves around Maya D’Souza (Kareena Kapoor). She is a single mother who was once a bar dancer. But now she runs a small cafe in a remote hilly area. She single-handedly looks after her daughter. On the other hand there is a genius Maths teacher. He is popular in the entire neighbourhood as Teacher Ji. He lives the neighbour of Maya.Jaideep Ahlawat plays this role.

The third main character of the film is Vijay Varma, who is in the police. One day, Maya’s ex-husband visited her house. He tries to force her to hide him from the cops. During a heated argument and physical fight Maya and Tara (Maya’s Daughter) killed him. In the meantime the teacher comes to help them cover the murder. Inspector Karan Anand (Vijay Varma) comes to Kalimpong from Mumbai. He investigates about the murder. He found the body (unexpectedly) and he begins his investigation. The probe leads him to one and only suspect, Maya. While Karan tries to solve the case, teacher commits to save Maya and Tara. Rest of the film is about who wins at the end.

.

There are a few loopholes that are too devastating in 2023. While they portray high level investigation way back in 2005. The idea of setting up a lie seems old today.

However, it’s thrilling enough to carry you with its flow and provide a fulfilling 130 minutes. Apart from that, there is one big reason to watch Jaane Jaan, is lead trio. Jaideep Ahlawat as Naroo/Naren is phenomenal. You won’t be able to think of any other actor making this role so perfect other than Jaideep. The film owes to Jaideep Ahlawat.

Vijay played a role of wicked cop with his easy expressions and evil smile. Kareena was thankfully expressed her age and not a younger girl which she played very well. Despite a few loose findings, Jaane Jaan comes home safely. I assure you of a watchable murder mystery and an engaging suspense thriller.

My Rating: 7/10
