Fellow Travelers is a 2023 American historical romance political thriller television miniseries based on the 2007 novel of the same name by Thomas Mallon. Starring Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey. it centres on the decades-long romance between two men who first meet during the height of McCarthyism in the 1950s.
Fellow Travelers is an engaging, informative vehicle for recounting the events. While the fictionalisation entertains, the subject matter truth stays appropriately prominent throughout the show. Jonathan Bailey and Matt Bomer created an epic story. These two actors have brought viewers in a journey of their love story that spans over 30 years.
Acting, set design and costume design are magnificent. I’m in awe of how good it gets on each episode. Jonathan Bailey and Matt Bomer are simply wonderful in Fellow Travelers. Jonathan Bailey, as always, is especially magnetic, wtih an impeccable American accent. Matt Bomer is also very solid. The chemistry between the two leads is undeniably strong. The supporting cast, who I was not familiar with before, also did a great job.
Overall, Fellow Travelers is a warmly engaging, well acted and accurately depicted account of an important facet of queer history in the United States.
