Panchayat (Review) – Magic of Some Heartfelt Moments

Panchayat tells the story of a graduate engineer. He went to a small village, Phulera, in the Bilai district of Uttar Pradesh as a secretary of a panchayat office. He rediscovers the grassroot issues in the village like frequent power cuts, unorganised office, dowry, family planning etc. What follows next is the measure he takes to improve the quality of life in the village.

Panchayat is a good piece of work for those who have been in touch with rural life. I can vouch that the whole setup seems quite natural and not at all forced. The gradually evolving chemistry between the characters lays out in front of you. It beautifully and intricately fabricates norms of the society, where you see the vulnerability of a common man.

Panchayat is a rare slice of comedy drama show that viewers can watch with their entire family. It’s a show that can go on for a long time. There are so many stories to be told. I felt like I was living in that moment. The most appreciating thing is the graceful presentation of the content. The acting is simply awesome. This is a perfect example when good acting skills with a superb storyline and mind blowing direction.

Performances of Panchayat highlights the web-series. Jitendra Kumar is completely natural as a frustrated guy who went to a remote rural area from an urban life. However, it is Raghubir Yadav and Neena Gupta who are just splendid to watch. Chandan Roy as Vikas and Faisal Malik as Prahlad Pandey added more weight to the film. Viewers of all age groups will find something relatable and enjoyable in this show.

Panchayat, overall, has the right intention with a good social message. The drama should be the top choice for this weekend.
